At first sight of this , I had thought: "Hmm this is interesting someone posting a portrait in winter with warm colours". Then after reading your description it came to my attention that you had taken it before, and just came back to edit it now. And what a great job you've done. I think with the background and the colours this photo is turned from an expressive portrait to a photo that has a story behind it.

The expression on your face is perfect for this, the soft light falls perfectly on your cheeks and enhances the shape of your lips while at the same time keeping some mystery on your eyes.
The composition of this photo is something that I can't quite understand. While I can guess the rules of thirds was used (maybe not on purpose) the emptiness on the right hand side would normally make a photo somewhat uneven. But in this case it adds another dimension to it. And that is something that I've not seen before with portraits. I have a suspicion it has something to do with the Bokeh in the background and the way your back is angled where it draws a line towards the gap.

My only bad points about this photo would have to be the Chromatic Aberration , which is something so stupid (In the sense that it's caused by the lens and only fussy people will notice it) and you have to really look closely to see it.

Overall I think the photo is fantastic and an amazing execution at a self portrait.
