Upon first glance, I thought there was too much going on in this picture... and that could detract from the focus of the work... the model. As a writer, I know that the audience demands a tightrope walk... give them too much and they get overwhelmed, but leave too much out and they feel cheated. As I began to allow myself to take in the objects with which you have surrounded yourself, though, my initial feeling changed. There is not too much going on... there is a story, if one takes a moment to read it.
Each and every item adds a piece of the tale... the records... the case... the glasses... the rug... and suddenly, your pose takes on new meaning and very real significance.
